The Bothy
Forres Moray 2000
Part of a group of farm buildings, this modern living space was created from the ruins of a tiny bothy. The choice to retain the simplicity and integrity of the original structure led to the addition of a discreet, minimally sized extension offset from the main building. Internally, within the main open plan living space, a douglas fir post and beam structure supports the new roof and contributes to a design that feels much more generous than its actual footprint of 43 square metres.
